STEVE ALMONTE
Team Manager / Pitching Coach / Owner
Steve Almonte is the consummate Baseball Team Manager and the heart and soul of our Riptide Club. Steve epitomizes the core values for our Cape Cod Riptide Baseball Club in all that he does. Whether it be coaching the team, working one-on-one with a young player, running a Summer Camp or simply welcoming a new member to the club with his infectious Enthusiasm, Steve never misses the opportunity to promote the core values of Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance, Teamwork, Initiative and Diligence. While earning a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, Steve helped lead the nationally-ranked baseball Tritons from ‘78-‘79 while also playing for the Y-D Red Sox in the Cape Cod League from ‘76- ‘78. Steve began his coaching career early and has since had professional coaching experience in Utrecht, Holland and in every level of amateur baseball including Div. I, II, and III in College, as well as American Legion, Sr. Babe Ruth, Babe Ruth and High School baseball. Steve is one the longest standing members of NEAAU Baseball since 1994 and has been a Team Manager every year since, covering every age division from 9- U to 16-U. His past accomplishments are too numerous to list and includes decades of tournament and regional AAU Championships across every age division.
This brings decades his development, management, travel and tournament experience to the RIPTIDE program. He has overseen well over seventy-five teams’ participation in National Tournaments since 1994. This experience will be evident throughout the 2018 18U RIPTIDE program in the high level of knowledge, effort and enthusiasm he demonstrates every day.

Bobby Sannicandro
Team Manager / Hitting Coach
High school, college coach, and hitting instructor for over 40 years. Student of MLB great Reggie Smith and The Pure Swing approach. I work in a cage. I help players learn how to create power and speed in their swing while maintaining balance and athleticism while controlling their center of mass. I help players find their natural swing. That is my mission.

Tony Colesano, LATC CSCS
Team Trainer/ Fitness Coach
A true Fitness and Sports Medicine Professional, Tony is considered one of the most knowledgeable and well respected Strength and Conditioning Coaches in New England. He has been in the industry for over 25 years. He grew up in West Springfield, MA and received a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from Bridgewater State College in 1994. He began his career as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the New England Patriots and has since successfully worked with individuals and groups of all ages and abilities from youth to high school to college, recreational athletes, and seniors. His practical experience influenced him to develop his own fitness system, Crescendo, as a unique integrated approach of fitness and sports medicine. Tony splits his time training clients at The Country Club in Brookline, MA , The Cape Cod Baseball Club in Bourne, MA, and with a large base of clients who have loyally trained with him in person, in groups, and virtually for years. He has achieved and maintains most of the top certifications in his fields such as NATA Certified Athletic Trainer, NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Functional Movement Screen, Precision Nutrition, Titleist Performance Institute, On Base University, and many more. He specializes in helping Baseball and Golf athletes understand and improve their bodies to reduce the risk of injury and enhance performance. Tony takes pride in the fact that he offers a results driven, genuine, compassionate, and thorough service supported by evidence based science and research.

Steven Harris
Physical Therapist
Steven has worked with Coach Almonte since 1995 to keep his ballplayers on the field and improve performance. He began his career working with legendary orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama. There, he worked with professional and elite amateur athletes in multiple sports. Throughout his many years as a physical therapist Steven has rehabilitated former and current professional athletes from MLB, NFL, NBA, World Cup Soccer, and the PGA Tour. Additionally, he has rehabilitated hundreds of baseball players from Little League to MLB and all levels in between. Steven has served as the rehab consultant for the Cotuit Kettleers since 2010.

Joseph E. Chase, M.D
Team Physician
A board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been practicing orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine in the Boston area for over 15 years. He treats patients of all ages, from adolescents to adults, and helps them to recover from injuries so that they can regain preinjury functional levels.
Dr. Chase earned his undergraduate degree in Biology at Harvard College and his M.D. from New York Medical College. He received training in General Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, and completed training at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program. Following his residency, Dr. Chase completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Chase participated in an orthopaedic research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as a clinical orthopaedic fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
Dr. Chase has been a team physician for high school, collegiate, and professional teams, including the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and Boston Red Sox. Dr. Chase was a team physician for the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox team. He has published articles in peer-review journals and has made presentations at meetings throughout the country.
Dr. Chase is affiliated with and does surgeries at local hospitals, including Steward Norwood Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton, and Eastern Massachusetts Surgery Center in Norwood.
Dr. Chase and his wife Sue are both Massachusetts natives. They live on the South Shore area of Boston with their three children.
